Kyobo Bookstore – The Largest Bookstore Chain In Korea (교보문고)

Favourite shop in the whole of Korea.

One of our favourite places to visit in Seoul is Kyobo Bookstore (교보문고). Here at the bookstore, you can find everything from approximately 2.3 million books to souvenirs, watches, household products, digital gadgets, gifts, stationey, music albums and more! This place is perenially crowded with people, more so on weekends when readers both young and old come down to spend their day enjoying a good book at this spacious bookstore.

Events and fairs are also regularly held here, where authors come down to meet with readers, or sale events where some of the brands roll out attractive promotions for their products. There is also a foreigners’ book corner, where you can find books in English, Chinese, Japanese and various other languages.

Feeling peckish after spending hours reading? There is a food court located in the bookstore itself selling a variety of food such as Korean, Western, Chinese and Japanese cuisine.

The books section is much larger than the stationery section, and we often find ourselves staying for a few hours at a go.

Preparing for your TOPIK test?

After a few hours spent ogling at all the pretty items on sale in the shop, a warm plate of Korean-style chicken rice is simply perfect.
